Open Classrooms Showcase Student Learning and Creativity

On Wednesday, 22 October, Corrigin District High School welcomed parents and carers into our classrooms for a special Open Classrooms event. The afternoon provided a wonderful opportunity for families to engage with their children’s learning and celebrate the diverse activities happening across the school.

Visitors were invited to explore student work on display and participate in a variety of hands-on learning experiences. Students proudly demonstrated their skills and creativity through activities such as:

  • Origami and shape exploration, highlighting geometry and fine motor skills
  • Numeracy games and challenges, encouraging problem-solving and teamwork
  • STEM experiments, including building floating structures and creating “elephant toothpaste” – a fun and foamy chemical reaction that amazed both students and adults alike

The event fostered a strong sense of community and showcased the engaging, inquiry-based learning happening in our classrooms. Thank you to all the families who attended and to our dedicated staff for creating such a vibrant and interactive afternoon.

We look forward to hosting more events that connect our school community and celebrate student achievement.
