Name: Sarah Jane Pfitzner
Where are you from? I’m originally from Narrogin but moved to Perth when I was younger.
What brings you to Corrigin? I completed my final placement for my degree here and absolutely loved the school and the community. So, when I was offered a job, I jumped at the opportunity.
Do you have siblings? Yes! I have an older sister, Hayley, and a younger brother, Dylan.
How long have you been teaching? I’m just getting started! I’ll be finishing my teaching degree at the start of 2025, so 2025 will be my first full year of teaching.
Did you always want to be a teacher? Not at all. When I was younger, I didn’t like school and used every trick in the book to get out of it. I was counting down the days until I’d be done. Everything changed when I had an incredible teacher in Year 5 who made learning fun and engaging. He inspired me to be that kind of teacher for students just like my younger self.
Favourite colour? Blue.
What are your hobbies? I love reading, baking, music, hockey, and spending time with my friends, family, and the doggos.
Favourite holiday destination: Busselton. I haven’t travelled the world yet.
Favourite saying: “What not” (I say it way too often).
What's one thing you’re renowned for? Randomly quoting lines from any movie or TV show.
What do you love about Corrigin District High School? I love the warm, welcoming, and positive community created by the students and staff.
If you had one wish, what would it be? To travel and see the world.
If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Teleportation.
Who do you barrack for in the AFL? West Coast Eagles.
Favourite season of the year and why? Winter! I’m not a fan of the heat, and I love the rain.
