Meet Miss Zis

Come and meet Miss Zis....

Name: Brooke Zis
Where are you from? I have lived between the city and the country, spending my primary school years living in Bruce Rock
What brings you to Corrigin? I wanted to begin my teaching career in the country, where I could immerse myself in a small-town community
Do you have siblings? One younger brother
How long have you been teaching? This year is my second year of teaching
Did you want to be a teacher when you were growing up? In primary school I wanted to be a vet, but shifted to pursue a career in teaching towards the end of high school
My favourite colour? Purple
What are your hobbies? Netball, long walks and baking
Favourite holiday destination: Any European city with a rich history and culture to explore
Favourite saying: We only get better if we make mistakes
What's the one thing you are renowned for? Putting down my marker/pen/stamp and not being able to find it, but the students always know exactly where it is and race to return it
What do you love about Corrigin District High School? The range of amazing resources that the school and P&C have worked together to fundraise and source for teachers and students to have access to
If you had one wish, what would it be? Pens/markers that never run out of ink
If you could have a super power what would it be? Super stretch to grow taller when I need to pin up work on the high walls (would help in netball too!)
Who do you barrack for in the AFL? Fremantle Dockers
Favourite season of the year and why? Autumn because I enjoy having the cooler mornings to rug up and then getting outside in the fresh, warm sun later in the day
Tell us one thing, you think most people don't know about you? The one food I cannot stand the smell or taste of is tomatoes; I will pick them out of salads/burgers or avoid them entirely!
